I stumbled across this in a Google search and it caught my eye because of the contradictory, somewhat challenging, title. It did not appear to be just a "oh it's great!" type of article; rather, the author really questions whether iPods are that effective. When reading, I was really thinking that this person doesn't agree with the use of iPods in the classroom, then in a response to the post at the end, they confirm their support of the technology. It did make me think.

Pretty disappointing article. Basically a short list of pros and cons associated with using iPods in the classroom. The author goes so far as to say that "Educators everywhere sigh collectively and shake their heads in disapproval"; and "whilst most educators ban them unequivocally". I don't think this accurately reflects the attitudes in education today, but I guess everyone is entitled to their own opinion.

Very good guide of the potential uses for iPods in the classroom. Written in 2005, some material is somewhat dated, but is all still very relevant. I saved a copy to my laptop for a reference.

7. Can you find any free AudioBooks? If not on iTunes, are there places on the Internet that has Audiobooks for the iPod? This is a hunting assignment to see what is out there for you in the area of audio books or electronic books for the classroom. Post your findings to your wiki with a brief explaination.
I found some free audio books just doing a Google search. I don't know how many there are on Automotive Technology, but this is something pretty cool that I will use in my personal time.

Check out iTunes U (at the very bottom of the iTunes store home page), Select K-12 (in the top right), then select Florida Department of Education, then take a look at some of the professional development links at this site or any other site. Lots of great materials.
